| The US Open Snowboarding Championship at Stratton Vermont
March can be the best month at Stratton. If you have a week to spend, we suggest mid-March, or perhaps the second week in March for the US Open Snowboarding Championship. It is held over at the Sunbowl and starts on March 6th for the 2011 season. The main events are on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and end on Sunday, March 13. You can ski or snowboard over to the Sunbowl easily from the Stratton Village, or drive and park there. To make reservations for this week, please Contact Us. We have some openings.

The 27th Annual US Open 2009 Snowboarding Championships at Stratton Mountain Vermont will feature quarterpipe, halfpipe, junior jam and slopes style competitions. There will be over 40,000 fands to this open event. This is the longest, oldest and most prestegious snwboarding competition in the world.
It starts at the Sunbowl, just 2 miles past the Stratton Village in Vermont on March 16, 2009. The main events start at 6:00 Pm on Friday the 20th, and continue through 21st and 22nd. Current olympic hopefulls like Ellery Hollingsworth, Charles Reid and Kevin Pearce will join past Olympic medalists as Hannah Teter, Shaun White and Kelly Clark.

On Friday night 6:15 p.m. March 20th, events start with an invitational quarterpipe competition followed by a concert at 8:00 p.m. in the USO Sponsor Village at the Sunbowl.

Saturday, March 21st will feature men’s and women’s semi-final and final halfpipe competitions. There will be an autograph session in the sponsor village at the Sunbowl, topped off with a concert after the halfpipe awards presentation at 4:15 p.m.

Sunday, March 22nd, will start with the junior jam halfpipe competition, then the men’s and women’s slopestyle finals
Three major titles will be awarded: the $100,000 Burton Global Open Series men’s and women’s title, the Volvo Most Valuable Rider Award and the Men’s Swatch TTR World Tour Champion award.
The 2009 US Open halfpipe, slopestyle and quarterpipe actionwill be broadcast on NBC, Sunday, March 29 from 1:00-2:30 p.m. EST. The semi-finals and finals will be displayed live on March 21 and 22 on Go211.com. Click her for more information.
