Stratton Mountain's Record Snowfalls
Winter at Stratton is amazing. The picture above was taken mid-December 2007.

The view from the top of Stratton is amazing. I wish everyone from New York could just go up to the top of the Gondola and see the views over to Bromley, Magic Mountain, down to Mount Snow and up to Killington on a clear day. Okemo can not be seen because Stratton's highest elevation is 4003 feet, Bromley and Magic Mountain are lower but close by, Mount Snow is a clear view to the south. Killington way to the north stands at 4,400 feet and is visible with its many peaks. Okemo at 3,400 feet is tucked away somewhere to the right.
The snow conditions at Stratton are great. Trails are perfect. But some winters we remember better than others.
The winter of 2003 was amazing! Only February and March of 2007 were fantastic. The winter of 2007 / 2008 is starting out as a blast. Many of these pictures were taken from 2003 to 2008. Stratton had over 12 feet of natural snow early in the season in 2003. Maybe it will be the same this year. In March one year, it just snowed and snowed every day. Some condos were covered up over the first floor. Some people had to dig tunnels to their houses. We have pictures of that snowfall and over 12 feet of snow in March alone.
As alternatives on frigid days, Stratton has sleigh rides, cross country skiing and just snowshoeing up Stratton Mountain.
March is generally much warmer then January and February and the best month we believe. It is heaven at Stratton in March.
